This week's Tech Tips:

- Turn a PDF to a JPG using this awesome Free tool: https://lightpdf.com/pdf-to-jpg
- YouTube Screen Cast - If you are trying to play a You-tube video on your T.V use the "Play on TV" button at the bottom right of the video and select your Chromecast that way to prevent any possible audio issues.

News and Updates:
Buck The System (BTS) Schedule - We will be at CCHS on October 3rd.  When will we be at your building?

New Approved Apps/Websites Whitelist Website - This new website will continue to be updated as new apps and websites are vetted and approved. Anything that is on the list is approved for immediate use within your classrooms. Please note that as companies change their privacy policies, some of the items on the list could possibly fall into the "Not Approved" realm and will be removed from the list. You will notice that there are categories located along the top of the website that filters the list down into specific categories for easier navigation. I would like to thank all who helped in the creation of this tool. Here is the link to the new website. It will also be added to the district website as well. https://sites.google.com/canoncityschools.org/ccs-whitelist/home

Infinite Campus Messenger
Do you have rights to view other calendars? Please make sure that when you send a message via Messenger that you are in the correct school and year so other schools and students do not receive your message. The IT Department was able to check with Support on this matter to see see if there is a way to prevent this from happening. We were hoping there would be a way prevent users from sending messages that have view only access to, there is not a way. We did have our case attached to an IDEA Enhancement request that has been created by other districts wanting the same solution.

Schoology News and Updates:
Student Email Problems/Problem logging in with Google:
Infinite Campus data syncs into Schoology automatically.
When students and parents use the Infinite Campus Apps, students and parents can update student emails.
This has caused a problem for students using Schoology when their school email is overwritten with their personal email.
In the mean time, please remind students to use their school email and not their personal in Campus Portal Student.
The IT Department will come up with a long term plan to prevent these email addresses from getting changed.
